A grand two-day orientation program was organized at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government College, Bangana for the newly admitted first-year students of the session 2025-26. On this occasion, college principal Dr. Ramesh Thakur was present as chief guest. The program was conducted by Dr. Kiran Thakur. Grand Launch of 'Govindika' Magazine
The annual magazine ‘Govindika’ for the session 2024-25 at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government College Bangana was formally released by Dr. Balvinder Singh Rana, Principal of Government College Chowkimaniyar. A one-day workshop on major schemes sponsored by Mera Bharat Una (Nehru Yuva Kendra Una), Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, was held at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government College Bangana. The chief guest, college principal Dr. Ramesh Thakur, inaugurated the workshop by lighting the lamp. District Youth Officer Pradeep Chaudhary honored the chief guest with a memento. The event was conducted by Vedhi Sharma. The main speakers were Akash Bhardwaj (faculty, Punjab National Bank Rural Self-Employment Training Institute, Una) and Manoj Kaushik (advisor, Swachh Bharat Mission, Nagar Parishad Una). They provided detailed information to the students about flagship programs of the Government of India—Digital India, Make in India, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, and more. In his motivational address, Dr. Ramesh Thakur said, “This era is an era of opportunities. Students can not only shape their lives with their capabilities and positive thinking but also play an important role in the development of society and nation. The future of the nation is prepared in classrooms and workshops, so students should apply what they learn.” A speech competition on Digital India and Make in India was also held during the workshop. Tanu Thakur, a second-year student, won first place; Kiran, a first-year student, secured second place; and Kalpana received third place. Program coordinators Prof. Sikandar Negi, Dr. Vinod Kumar, and Prof. Kamlesh, among other faculty members, were also present.

“RAJNITI KI PATSHALA” Organized By Deaprtment of political science
The Department of Political Science at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government College Bangana successfully organized the program “RAJNITI KI PATSHALA.” The program was presided over by Head of Department Prof. Sikandar Negi. The topic of this session was “Democracy and Panchayati Raj: Challenges and Solutions.” Students actively participated, sharing their views. Final-year students Nikhil, Tania Sharma, and Ankita Kumari shared their perspectives, while second-year students Divyanshu Sharma, Ankush Sharma, Vedhi Sharma, and Tanu Thakur expressed their opinions. First-year students Simran, Parvati, Kiran, and Shagun also enthusiastically took part. The students discussed contemporary issues related to democracy and Panchayati Raj system and suggested solutions to challenges. Prof. Sikandar Negi stated that the department would conduct weekly discussion sessions on contemporary topics every Friday in the “School of Political Science” to encourage academic and intellectual progress. He said the main goal of this activity is to develop logical thinking, communication skills, and awareness among students of political, social, and economic issues. This event not only provided a platform for sharing ideas but also gave students the opportunity to understand the ground-level challenges of democracy and Panchayati Raj. It proved to be an important step towards strengthening the academic activities of the Political Science Department and developing students’ thinking on contemporary issues.

The NCC Rank Distribution Ceremony was held with great enthusiasm and dignity at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government College Bangana. The chief guest was the college principal Dr. Ramesh Thakur.
