The annual income of the parent or guardian of the beneficiary should not exceed Rs 2.00 Lacs, from all sources and student should not have less than 50% marks in the previous final examination. Student must pass the examination from Govt. / Govt. Aided institutions. Students under this Scholarship Scheme, need to apply online at http://www.scholarships.gov.in , as per the following schedule, and no offline application form will be accepted.

The Institution will forward the duly attested printed form (after successful online verification) along with the Verified Candidate List(s) (on the prescribed format) to the concerned DDHE (in case of Govt. Schools) & to this Directorate (in case of University), for online verification & cross-checking. After successful online verification, the DDHE shall retain the hard copies of the students of Private Recognized Institution(s), and return the remaining forms to the concerned schools. The DDHE also need to forward the Verified Candidate List(s) in r/o their respective district(s) to this Directorate. The Govt. Colleges (within state) need to forward only the Verified Candidate List(s) (on the prescribed format) to this Directorate.

Under this Scheme, Interest subsidy is admissible from any Bank on Education loan availed up to the Maximum of Rs. 10 (Ten lakh only) Interest subsidy to the extent of 4% p.a. on Education loan will be allowed.
